I will be selling these miniature paintings to raise $1500.00 for my Trip with Two Wheel View through
These paintings are acrylic on wooden match boxes. They were painted with burnt matchsticks. Most of the subjects were from my everyday experiences of Bolivian culture. They were painted during my Peace Corps service from 2001 -2003. The idea of using matchboxes and the used matchsticks was good in that I was able to express myself through painting while reusing something that is generally thrown away. I also liked the idea that these paintings can fit in your pocket.
These matchbox paintings first began as something to fill my free time and later became more of a way to reflect on my everyday experiences. I will be showing some of them on Dec 21, 2005 and plan to show them again during Peace Corps week in mid February at a local gallery. I appreciate any support in achieving this goal.
I am asking $100 for an original painting and $10 for color copies. I promise to include a bio on each painting. Some of these paintings will include the frame. These are one of a kind and will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. If the original is not available I will gladly send you a copy.
There are 3 blocks of these painting marked A-C. They are numbered starting from top left corner down, from left to right . Please email me the Block A-C and #. (ex. C5).
